As a design leader, I ask myself constantly: "How can my team continuously deliver the best product experience to our Users?" My answer is always the same, 'we need to consider our Users' constantly changing and evolving tastes in a rapidly growing community'.

You often hear "less is more" in design, which originated in Architecture but is equally important in UI/UX design. For me pairing back a design to it's absolute minimal elements and making sure the interface is clean, easy to understand and quick to use IS the definition of good UX.

I'm continually astonished by the downward trend in the value of design paraphernalia. We've seen massive shifts in the stock photo business where those assets now cost little or nothing-and companies like Unsplash can raise millions of dollars in venture capital to give away stock images for free.

Our style guide is the blueprint for our design system. It helps us collaborate across disciplines to build a great experience for all of Shopify's merchants. Let's make commerce better for everyone!

For the past three-and-a-half years of my life, I have devoted a large portion of my time and creativity to the creature known as SVG. Whether that was a good choice or not, I do not know. But here I am. However, I'm not really sure where I'm going to go next.
